Mr. Trainor is a
registered professional civil engineer and Florida Supreme Court certified
county mediator. He has registrations in multiple New England states;
keeping his Massachusetts license active because of contractual
commitments in that state.
In private practice for the last nine years he has been working with clients, nationally and internationally, resolving construction disputes and helping close out large infrastructure projects. He also performs construction claims defense and analysis services. For the eight years before forming NG Trainor and Associates, as a full time consulting engineer, he was an area and then division construction manager directly overseeing projects valued to $120 million with a total involvement, in just the last seventeen years, exceeding $1 billion. Before that he worked for various engineering firms in the New England area. Specializing in complex construction issues, he has developed mediation and negotiation skills that help all parties understand their respective positions. With thirty years of design, management and construction claims experience, he has demonstrated an ability to create resolution packages that are acceptable to all parties. Part of the AWWA's ( American Water Works Association - 70,000 members) national Construction Contract Administration committee he jointly wrote a manual on the entire construction process, chairing Chapter 1 on "traditional project delivery" consisting of Owner - Contractor - Engineer.
